Delete your account and personal data

This page explains how to delete your Search Homes India account and the personal data associated with it, what is removed, what may be retained, and how long it takes.

  • You can delete your account and personal data at any time — instantly from the app, or by emailing our support team.
  • Deletion removes your name, mobile number, email, and profile details, and permanently disables login to the account.
  • A limited set of records may be retained only where the law requires, and those are kept in a de-identified form.
  • In-app deletion is immediate; email-based requests are actioned within 30 days.

Option 1 — Delete from the app / website (instant)

If you are signed in, you can delete your own account in a few taps. This is the fastest way and takes effect immediately.

  • Open the Search Homes India app (or website) and sign in.
  • Go to Dashboard → My Profile.
  • Scroll to the “Delete Account” section at the bottom.
  • Tap “Delete my account”, then confirm “Yes, delete permanently”.
  • Your personal data is removed, the account is disabled, and you are signed out right away.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email

If you cannot access your account, email us from the address or with the mobile number linked to your account so we can verify ownership and process the deletion.

  • Email: contact@searchhomesindia.com
  • Subject: “Account deletion request”
  • Include the registered mobile number and/or email so we can locate and verify the account.
  • We complete verified requests within 30 days and confirm once done.

What data is deleted

When your account is deleted, the personal information tied to it is removed or irreversibly anonymized, including:

  • Your name, mobile number, and email address.
  • Profile details such as company name, GSTIN, and address information.
  • Account login credentials (the account can no longer be signed in to).

What may be retained (and why)

To meet legal, tax, security, and fraud-prevention obligations, a limited set of records may be retained for the period required by applicable law. Wherever retained, such records are kept in a de-identified/anonymized form that is no longer linked to your identity.

Content you may have shared publicly or with third parties before deletion (for example, an enquiry already delivered to a listing owner) cannot always be recalled from those recipients.

Timeline

In-app deletion is immediate. Email-based requests are verified and completed within 30 days. Backup copies, where they exist, are cycled out on our standard backup rotation shortly thereafter.
